The Tobacco Bill

The Control of Tobacco Products and Electronic Delivery Systems Bill — more commonly referred to as the Tobacco Control Bill — was tabled by SA Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi. South Africans had until August 9, 2018 to make submissions on it’s content.

The Tobacco Control Bill is currently with the National Department of Health, where officials are wading through thousands of submissions. These submissions will be considered so that the Bill can undergo various amendments before it submitted back to the Minister of Health to take back to Parliament.

We’re keen to keep you up-to-date on the developments around the bill so watch this space, we’ll keep you informed.
